Jan Mullins – installed “Instructional Presentations” using a flash drive (MacBook Air has no optical drive and couldn’t connect to my archive server) 

Stefanie Baldwin – reported problem with new SmartBoard projector. The SmartBoard itself wasn’t connecting reliably. Called tech support at Pro Presenters, but resolved connection issue while on hold (USB connection at computer – pulled out and reconnected). She had been restarting to resolve, but I should her how the USB connection in the computer could be unplugged and plugged in again. This seemed to be the source of the problem there. Additionally, her projector was no longer in “ceiling front” mode and the Flash Player wasn’t displaying the whole page. We corrected the menu settings on the projector while on the phone with Pro Presenters. The Flash Player problem seems intermittent. When I started Flash Player again it worked okay, I really didn’t change anything and all available updates had already been applied.

Nancy Wilson – reported an issue with connection delays with the Google Calendar timing out. I had noticed this problem myself with “Pythonroom” when the kids ran code with an infinite loop, but have also had reports of the problem with other web sites that have server-side activitiy. I called OneNet and opened ticket #22313 where we discussed trying another browser (we all use Chrome now), how our web filter (firewall) doesn’t have any custom policies that could be causing the problem, and that we should check to see that our DNS servers are using well known public DNS authorites. Will consult with Peder Angvall next.
